Reverberating
the theme of the meeting, “In pursuit of excellence”, all of us arrived bright
and early for our meeting, waiting patiently for our food and beverage
provider, Kwa Ngan Eng, DTM who was late. Great patience, excellent members!
We
jointly welcomed our energetic General Evaluator, Ken Chan, DTM from Money
Mastery Toastmasters Club and our honoured guest, Mohd Akmal. Thank you for
being with us.
Last
minute ASA, Ken Koh, CC called the meeting to order at 7.15pm after everyone had
their refreshment. Well done, punctual Ken!
Experienced
TME, Obaidullah was awesome in the management of the whole meeting. Stupendous
job, Obaid!
President,
Jeannie, ACB encouraged all to practice continuously every second, every
minute, every day even for thousands of times to improve us in pursuit of
excellence. We shall do that, Jeannie!
The Grammarian,
Shirley Bak, DTM introduced the Word Of The Day, “Excel” collaborating the
theme of the meeting, “In pursuit of excellence”. Thank you, Shirley, we shall
remember to use it in our speeches!
Pun Yew
Kee, the invocator reminded us all to be cautious, vigilant and mindful before
we take matters in our hands in his inspiring speech. Wonderful speech, Yew
Kee, we shall keep that in mind always!

Kee who was also the Table Topics Master made the Table Topics session very captivating
by emphasizing on the theme of the meeting for his impromptu speeches’ topics.
Obaidullah,
Jeannie, ACB, SK Ratnam, DTM and Pei San accepted the challenge and volunteered
for this session, each attempting their speeches in their own individual ways. Well
done, spontaneous speakers!

The
first prepared speech by Ken Chan, DTM, his third Ice Breaker speech titled, “The
pen is mightier than the hammer” was so informative, entertaining and
energizing that everyone remembered it. Superb speech, Ken Chan!
His
evaluator, Shirley Bak, DTM was very impressed by his perfect speech and revealed
no point for improvement. Thank you, Shirley!

Koh, CC, did an Advance Manual speech from Interpretive
Reading #4 titled,
“Joker in jail” about Batman and the Joker which was intriguing, full of
suspense and triggered our imagination. Kudos, Ken!
His
evaluator, SK Ratnam, DTM was mesmerized and encouraged him to keep it up.

ACB presented a speech from Advance Manual, Special
Occasion Speech #3 titled, “To go or not to go” which was a roast to Pun Yew
Kee which was very amusing, humourous and enlightening. Fabulous, Jeannie!

Lim, Ah Counter for the first time did a fantastic job of listing all the word
crutches and reported them confidently. Marvellous job, Karen!

Bak, DTM, experienced Grammarian elaborated on all who used the theme and word
of the day and reported on all wrongful and creative usage of words. Inspiring

Pei San was very generous in her time keeping and gave an accurate report. Splendid
job, San!
Listening
Evaluator, Jeannie, ACB, picked up ten intricate questions from the speeches and
amazingly SK Ratnam, DTM had eight correct answers which entitled him to
receive the Best Listening Award. Excellent
job, Jeannie and congratulations SK!
General
Evaluator, Ken Chan, DTM felt very comfortable and ‘at home’ and was very
impressed by all the speakers, evaluators and role players of the whole meeting
and he wished to return as General Evaluator and Speaker again. Thank you, gracious
Ken Chan! We shall invite you to our meetings again.
President,
Jeannie, ACB in closing persuaded all to be observant, not only towards big
things but minor details as well in pursuit of excellence! Thank you, Jeannie!
