EXTOL TOASTMASTERS MEETING NO. 393 ON 2nd July 2014

We had an awesome first meeting on 2^nd July 2014 for the term 1 July 2014 to 30 June 2015! It is a great start for our new term. It promises for better things to come!

 

General Evaluator, Steven Khaw CC, CL

Thank you General Evaluator, Steven Khaw CC, CL from Summit Toastmasters Club and who is also our new Area C5 Governor for gracing our meeting.

There were a total of 11 members and a guest, Rohen who attended the meeting. The meeting was power-packed and motivating and we enjoyed ourselves very much!

TME,  Enamullah Kooshan

The meeting started on time at 7.15 pm. TME Enamullah Kooshan conducted the meeting smoothly and the meeting ended at 9.30pm.

Kooshan chose “Good Health” as the Theme of the Meeting which was apt in view of the Puasa month. Good timing, Kooshan!

Congratulations, Kooshan for doing a great job! Kooshan did his job so well that nobody realized that he is a first time TME. Well done, Kooshan! We look forward to your next TME role.

New President, Jeannie Carrera Chow, CC

New President, Jeannie Carrera Chow, CC opened the meeting with thanks to Past President, Pun Yew Kee and his team for leading Extol Toastmasters Club to Select Distinguished Club status for the term 2013-2014. She also gave a welcoming speech to her new team for the term 2014-2015.

Shirley Bak, DTM and Jeannie, CC

The Grammarian, Shirley Bak, DTM gave an optimistic Word of the Day “sanguine” which is applicable as this is the first meeting for our new term. Thank you, Shirley Bak, DTM!

SK Ratnam, DTM

SK Ratnam, DTM as the Invocation Master gave an inspiring Invocation speech “The Uncommon Man” which was very uplifting. Thank you, SK Ratnam, DTM.

Jeannie Chow, CC, the Humour Master shared a humourous story, “The Robot That Slaps Liars” which caused roaring laughter. Thank you, Jeannie Chow, CC.

Table Topics Speaker, guest Rohen

Jeannie Chow, CC was the Table Topics Master for this meeting.  The participants volunteered themselves before being called upon for the impromptu speeches. Thank you, participants. 

Mohammad Yousuf, CC

Mohammad Yousuf, CC, the Table Topics Evaluator did a fantastic job by evaluating all the speakers fairly and frankly. Well done, Yousuf!

Best Table Topics Speaker, Obaidullah

The best Table Topics Speaker went to Obaidullah who gave a wonderful speech.

Ken Koh, CC

There was only 1 Project Speaker, Ken Koh, CC who recited a beautiful poem and he was evaluated by Jeannie Chow, CC. 

Kwa Ngan Eng, DTM

Kwa Ngan Eng, DTM conducted the Successful Club Series in view of the new team for the term 2014-2015. Thank you, Kwa Ngan Eng, DTM.

Henry Yeoh is the most enthusiastic Listening Evaluator we ever had. He gave us very subtle questions that everybody endeavoured to be better listeners in future meetings. Thank you, Henry Yeoh!

Ah Counter, Obaidullah was very attentive during the meeting and performed his duty very well by recording all word clutches and reporting them. Thank you, Obaidullah!

Joke Boey who was the Timer did a good job of timing the whole meeting, Well done, Joke Boey!

Our General Evaluator, Steven Khaw CC, CL who was very cordial and gave a frank and honest opinion on the whole meeting!  Thank you very much, Steven Khaw! We hope that you will visit us again as the General Evaluator for our meeting.

President Jeannie Chow, CC also announced that there will be a Humourous Speech and Evaluation Contest for our club on 6^th August 2014. All members are invited to participate as contestants or role players.

She also announced that the Toastmasters International Conference in KLCC is from 20^th to 23^rd August 2014 and invited all members to attend the conference.

We would also like to call upon a volunteer for the TME role for the next Meeting No. 394 on 16th July 2014.  Dereck Ng has volunteered to be the Timer.   Dear members, there are many roles waiting for you!  So hurry and make our next meeting as enjoyable!
